November 8th LuncheonSpeaker: Donna King and Connie Johnson
Topic: A Hidden Joy Resurfaced
Sometimes, or should we say more frequently then not, life takes over our thoughts and our time and in doing so we lose sight of the joy that is before us. So, for yourself, pause a few minutes each day over the next several days and think of a blessing or two that you may have lost sight of. A blessing that brought you joy. It could be big or small. It could be a blessing that caused your heart to smile, to soar. A blessing that brought you peace. A blessing that encouraged your heart and renewed your hope. It could be a friend that came alongside you in a time of need, a stranger that extended you kindness. It could be an unexpected telephone call with good news, or an answer to prayer, a scripture or a song. Write your blessing down on a sheet of paper or on your heart. Then come on Thursday as we find joy in the blessings that God has so graciously placed before us over this past year. Come join us and share in this time we have together, before the busyness of the holidays, that your heart may be encouraged. In addition, we have a gift for each of you that we hope will continue to encourage your heart until we meet again in January.
Also, as a reminder, we will be collecting clean seasonal career wear this month for Career Closet, a non-profit organization that provides career wear for women in need. Your clothing donation, one piece or more, will surely bring joy and encouragement to those who receive them.
Based on the foundational truths found in Psalm 92:4: "For You, O Lord, have made me glad by what you have done, I will sing for joy at the work of your hands.” And Romans 15:13, "Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit."
